Privacy Policy

YogaLib is run by Odd Hour Labs LLC ("we", "us"). Yoga teachers use YogaLib to sell their recorded classes on their own sites, such as teachername.yogalib.net. This policy explains what we collect when you use YogaLib, why, and the choices you have. The short version:
- We collect only what we need to run YogaLib.
- We never sell your personal information, and we don't use it for advertising.
- Card details go to Stripe. We never see or store them.
- We don't use advertising or tracking cookies.
What we collect
If you're a student
- Your email address. It's how you sign in and how we know which classes you have access to.
- If you choose "Continue with Google", Google tells us your email address, whether Google has verified it, and whether it belongs to a Google Workspace organization. We use this only to sign you in, and we keep nothing from Google except your email address. We don't ask Google for your name, photo, contacts or anything else, and we can't act in your Google account.
- Your purchases and access. What you bought or rented, from which teacher, when, and until when. If you buy a gift, we also keep the email address of the person you gave it to.
- Classes you save. When you press Save on a class, we keep that you saved it and when, so you find it under Saved in My library. Teachers don't see who saved which class.
- Sign-in records, such as when you signed in and from which device, so we can keep your account secure.
- Payment details are collected and processed by Stripe on the teacher's behalf. We receive a record of the payment, such as the amount and whether it succeeded or was refunded, but never your card number.
If you're a teacher or on a teacher's team
- Your name, email address, site name and the support email you show your students.
- Your Stripe account identifier, and the status of your account as Stripe reports it to us.
- Your class content, such as titles, descriptions, prices and links to your videos. Your videos themselves are stored with the video hosting service you use.
If you contact us
What you send us, such as your name, email address and message, and limited technical information to prevent spam.
When anyone visits
Like most websites, our servers record basic technical information, such as your IP address, the page you asked for and the time. We use these records only to keep YogaLib running and secure, and they are deleted after a short period.
Viewing statistics
When you see or open a class on a teacher's site, we count it, together with your approximate location (country and region, such as a US state, worked out from your IP address) and the kind of device (for example desktop, iPhone or Android phone). We don't store your IP address with these counts. If you're signed in, we record a coded version of your email address so a teacher can see how many different people watched; if you're not, the code changes every day. We don't use cookies for this. Teachers see only totals, and places with only a few viewers are grouped together.
We also note how you reached a class or collection (for example from search, a featured class or a collection), whether that led to a purchase, and, if you arrived from another website, that website's name (not the page).
Page load statistics
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, from our hosting provider, to count page views and measure how fast pages load. It doesn't use cookies, doesn't store your IP address and doesn't follow you from site to site. We see only totals.
Class content
To provide features such as captions, we may process the video, audio and text of the classes a teacher adds to YogaLib. We do this only to provide YogaLib for that teacher and their students, and to make those features work better. We don't sell class content, we don't use it to train models, and we don't allow our service providers to use it for their own purposes. We don't create face or voice prints of anyone who appears in a class.
How we use information
- To run YogaLib: sign you in, show you the classes you have access to, and process purchases and refunds.
- To send emails you need, such as sign-in codes and "you have access" messages. We don't send marketing email to students.
- To show teachers how their classes are seen and watched, as totals.
- To answer your questions and give support.
- To keep YogaLib secure, prevent fraud and abuse, and fix problems.
- To meet our legal obligations.
If you're in the European Economic Area or the UK, our legal bases are: providing the service you asked for (contract), keeping it secure and improving it (legitimate interests), and complying with the law.
Who we share it with
- The teacher whose site you use. Teachers see their own students' email addresses and purchases, so they can support them and manage access. Each teacher is responsible for how they use that information.
- Service providers who run parts of YogaLib for us, only as needed: website hosting, payments (Stripe, on the teacher's own account), email delivery, video playback and, if you choose it, sign-in with Google.
- When the law requires it, or to protect the rights and safety of our users and others.
- If YogaLib changes hands, for example in a merger or sale, this policy will continue to apply to your information.
We don't sell personal information, and we don't share it for advertising.
Cookies
We use only the cookies YogaLib needs to work:
- cookies that keep you signed in;
- a cookie that lasts a few minutes while you sign in with Google, to make sure the sign-in finishes in the browser that started it;
- cookies that show a one-time message after you submit a form.
We don't use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies. The video player is provided by the teacher's video hosting service, and that service's own privacy policy covers it.
How long we keep it
- Purchase and access records are kept for as long as the teacher's site is on YogaLib, because your access depends on them, and afterwards for as long as tax and accounting law requires.
- Sign-in records are kept while you have an account and deleted after it's closed.
- Saved classes are kept until you remove them, and deleted with your account.
- Messages you send us are kept for as long as needed to respond and follow up.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us to show you, correct, export or delete your personal information. Email ben@yogalib.net from the address you use with YogaLib. We'll reply within the time the law requires. If you delete your account, you'll lose access to classes you bought. We may keep records we're required to keep by law, such as payment records.
Depending on where you live, including California, other US states, the EEA and the UK, you may have further rights under local law. For example, you may have the right to appeal our decision or to complain to your data protection authority. We don't sell or share personal information for advertising, so there's nothing to opt out of. We treat Global Privacy Control signals as a request not to sell or share, which we never do anyway. We won't treat you differently for using your rights.
Security
All traffic uses encrypted connections, and each teacher's site is kept separate from every other. No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects your information, we'll tell you as the law requires.
Where information is stored
YogaLib is run from the United States, and your information is processed there and wherever our service providers operate. Where the law requires, we use safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
Children
YogaLib is for adults. You must be 18 or older to create an account or buy. We don't knowingly collect information from children. If you think a child has given us information, email ben@yogalib.net and we'll delete it.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date above. For significant changes, we'll also email teachers and post a notice on YogaLib first. We won't use information we already hold in a significantly different way without asking you first.
